GEOFFREY BROWN
EDUCATIONAL PSYCHOLOGIST
PSYCHOLOGICAL AND EDUCATIONAL SERVICES
Consultation, Psychotherapy, and Evaluation for Adolescents and Families
WELCOME TO MY WEBSITE
I am a Licensed Educational Psychologist based in Wellesley, MA, where I provide consultation, psychotherapy, and evaluation services. I am bilingual and am able to provide all services in English or Spanish. My services help children and families to navigate a range of challenges that often manifest during the difficult transitions that accompany pre-adolescence, adolescence, and young adulthood.
In psychotherapy and consultation with parents, some of the issues that I commonly work on are coping with depression, anxiety, ADHD, social/relationship issues, self-esteem, stress management, and learning disabilities. I am a good match for middle and high school students who would benefit from counseling support outside of the school setting with a practitioner who can collaborate well with school-based service providers. You can read more about my approach to adolescent psychotherapy by clicking here.

In addition to therapy, I offer psychological testing at my Wellesley office, where I conduct personalized evaluations that include tests of neuropsychological functioning (memory, attention, executive functioning, information processing), cognitive (IQ/Intelligence tests), social-emotional assessments, and standardized tests of academic skills. I have extensive experience working in schools and am able to advise families regarding special education (IEPs), 504 accommodation plans, and other ways to seek appropriate accommodations and support services through their child's school. Every child wants to do well. When they are unable to meet expectations, it can impact their self-esteem, create tension in their relationships with family and friends, and generate worry about their future. If difficulties have emerged for your child during middle and high school and there is frustration, worry, and uncertainty about how to improve the situation, I’m happy to listen with fresh ears and offer some neutral feedback. I can present some clear options for how I may be able to help, or can offer alternative suggestions if my services are not the right fit for your family. Get in touch with me to book a free 15-minute introductory phone/video call and I can present some options for how to move forward. Look forward to connecting with you and your child.
